Nathanism

Recently Nathan has been crazy about tickling.  But not just tickling with anyone he will only tickle with his daddy!  The second daddy comes through the door he starts yelling "kickle time", "kickle time".   Well the other day I started tickling him and he looked straight at me and said:
"Don't "kickle" me!"
So, I asked "why not?"
He then said "only daddy "kickles" me and you are not a boy".
Well eeeeeeeeeeeeexcuuuuuuuuuuuuse me!!!!

Cookies

My friend, teammate, and neighbor Sharon gave me an incredible
recipe for chocolate chip cookies!  The recipe calls for coconut
and I think that's what makes them delicious.  Everyone really
enjoyed them, especially little Naynay who was also goofing around
with my "head light".

Pumpkin Creme Pies

I'm not a huge pumpkin flavor fan but since it's fall I've decided to try to get into the "fall" spirit.  So far I have made pumpkin cupcakes and the other day I tried my hand at pumpkin creme pies.  I got the recipe from The Pioneer Woman.   It was quite time consuming considering that I have to make the pumpkin puree but it was worth all the hard work.  The recipe also made a bunch of creme pies plus they refrigerate real well and tasted just as fresh on the third day.

My taste tester thought they were quite yummy!

Columbus Day

October 11 was Columbus Day, so I decided to take a break from our regular school day
and concentrate on a lapbook project pack.  I have never done one of these before and the
concept is entirely new to me so I did the best I could.  The idea is to concentrate on one
subject and to take a good amount of time to go through but we did this in one day considering
that Jojo is only 7 years old.  One of the best things about homeschooling is that I get to learn
right alongside of Jojo.  We learned some real interesting facts about Christopher Columbus and
then I did my own research on the internet and found some more interesting facts.  Lapbooks are
a lot of fun.  This one on Christopher Columbus came from here and on the top menu they actually
have some freebies you can download!

Spiderman Sleepover Celebration

We celebrated Jojo's 7th birthday a month late only because it takes us a bit to get acclimated and organized once we return from the States.  Not to mention trying to schedule an event with everyone's schedule being so insane.

This year we decided to go with a slumber party with 3 of the boys on the team here in Samara.  Of course they are all of Jojo's "best buds".  It was a lot of fun until some particular boys woke up at 6:45 a.m. which was a little too early for this mama but oh well!!!!
