SNOW MUCH

On January 23 and 24 we received a ton of snow. It was a record snowfall and many Russians say it had been over 15 years since they had seen so much snow. Jon was out and about driving on the 24th and he said it was just crazy out there. People were walking in the middle of the street because the sidewalks were covered in snow. He also said that all the bus stops were jam packed with people trying to get transportation. Recently Jon took some pictures outside and as you can see the temperatures here have not dropped below freezing so pretty much all the snow has remained. The last two days though the temps have been holding out at one degree over freezing and so the snow has begun to melt and it is a mess. Thankfully today it is snowing a bit and so it is covering up all the ugly.

All Night Long

Last week it finally happened. Nathan started sleeping through the night. It has been quite a bumpy road and many sleepless nights to get to this point and even though it isn't quite perfected yet.........we'll take it. He is usually up around 2 or 3 in the morning but he just "talks" a little and then goes right back to sleep. Then he is up at 5 or 6 in the morning to "chit chat" again and will go back to sleep until 7 in the morning. And even though he has accomplished this feat with much training from mom and dad, mom is still pretty tired. It seems that my body is still set on a clock that wakes up every 3 hours.

Out of Egypt

Well we just got back from Egypt. We had to exit Russia in order to fulfill Visa law requirements. It was quite the trip. Josiah, Nathan, and I all got a wicked stomach virus. Jon was sick right before we left and so he was graciuos enough to pass it on to us!! We made the best of it though. Jon went snorkelling twice. He said it was like "Finding Nemo". It is really amazing how amidst all the desert that such an abundant sea life exsists in the Red Sea. Josiah and I got to go on a glass bottomed boat excursion which we both loved. We also spent a lot of time together as a family. And of course it was great to be in the sun and by the sea! My two favorite things!
